Remote Lead Product Engineer - ML Platform

Description:

• Fusemachines is seeking a Lead Product Engineer with strong core software engineering experience and some experience with Machine Learning (ML)/ML Operations (MLOps) to spearhead engineering initiatives for a new product line.
• The role involves overseeing the development, scaling, and optimization of the ML platform and other products, ensuring solid, scalable, and maintainable software engineering foundations.
• Responsibilities include guiding the team in adopting and innovating in machine learning model development, deployment, monitoring, and management, ensuring integration with CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes.
• The Lead Product Engineer will champion best practices in software development, including design patterns, code quality, security, and performance, fostering a culture of excellence.
• The position requires leading, mentoring, and building a diverse distributed engineering team, creating an environment that encourages innovation and continuous learning.
• The role also involves serving as a bridge between the ML/MLOps and software engineering teams, collaborating closely with product management, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to deliver a high-quality product.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have at least 8+ years of technology experience, with leadership roles managing teams specializing in both ML/MLOps and core software engineering.
• A deep understanding of Enterprise Software architecture, design patterns, and modern programming languages is required, along with a strong foundation in machine learning algorithms, data modeling, and MLOps practices across major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proven ability to lead, inspire, and grow multidisciplinary engineering teams is essential, along with being a strategic thinker capable of balancing short-term goals with long-term vision.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills are necessary to foster positive relationships across engineering teams and with other business units.
• An advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required, with a strong background in both AI/machine learning and software engineering.
