Description:

Monarch is seeking an experienced Lead Security Engineer to focus on cybersecurity as the company continues to grow.
The role is fully remote, open to applicants within a 5-hour time zone difference of US Pacific Time.
Responsibilities include implementing data encryption standards, designing data access controls, monitoring data handling, and conducting audits of PII storage.
The engineer will embed security best practices within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and deploy security tools in the CI/CD pipeline.
The position involves designing security configurations in cloud environments, establishing automated monitoring, and fostering collaboration with cross-functional teams to promote data security practices.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in security engineering roles, focusing on data security, application security, and infrastructure security, ideally in a cloud-first environment.
Proficiency in a programming language, preferably Python, is required to support security initiatives.
Demonstrated experience in implementing data encryption and access controls for sensitive data is essential.
Experience securing cloud environments, particularly AWS, with a deep understanding of IAM, VPCs, and security groups is necessary.
Knowledge of secure coding principles and experience with security testing tools (SAST, DAST) within CI/CD pipelines is required.
Strong communication skills to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders are essential.
