The Lead Security Engineer will report to the engineering organization and support security and continuous compliance.
Responsibilities include designing and building tools for governance and maintaining infrastructure security controls to ensure HIPAA and SOC-2 compliance.
The role involves leading initiatives to implement new security frameworks, conducting security assessments, and managing penetration tests.
The engineer will work with the team to recommend security designs and implement core security tooling.
The position is remote-first, considering candidates across the United States.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
A passion for improving infrastructure security operations is essential.
Experience securing large complex enterprise architectures in the public cloud, particularly AWS, is required.
Familiarity with AWS security tools such as GuardDuty, CloudTrail, and CloudWatch is necessary.
Hands-on experience with IAM systems like Okta and OneLogin is a plus.
Knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO 27001/2, NIST CSF, HIPAA/HITECH, and SOC-2 is preferred.
Experience with continuous compliance platforms like Drata or Vanta is advantageous.
A computer science degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, diverse, and multidisciplinary work environment is necessary.

The annual base salary range for this position is between $180,000 and $230,000, with stock grants significantly enhancing the overall compensation package.
