Description:
Common App is a national not-for-profit organization focused on access, equity, and integrity in the college admission process.
The Lead Software Developer will report to the Director of Software Development and will be part of a team designing and developing web-based and mobile software products.
This role involves providing technical guidance and mentoring to a team of Software Developers.
The Lead Software Developer will implement high-quality software products that meet the needs of The Common Application community.
Requirements:
Candidates must reside in the United States.
A Bachelor's degree or higher from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience is required.
8-10 years of progressive experience in software development is necessary.
8-10 years of experience in Web Application development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SPA frameworks such as Angular, TypeScript, and React is required.
3+ years of experience in REST and GraphQL API service development using C#, .NET Core, Entity Framework, and MySQL or NoSQL data stores is needed.
3+ years of experience in Hybrid Mobile Frameworks such as Ionic, Android Studio, or Xcode is required.
5+ years of experience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery Patterns using AWS services and tools is necessary.
3+ years of experience with various AWS services is required.
5+ years of experience in Agile practices is necessary.
Expertise in all components of the development process, including code repository management, code review, coding standards, deployment, and quality assurance processes is required.
Ability to debug and troubleshoot in production environments is essential.
Candidates should be able to evaluate and make recommendations based on complex Proof of Concepts.
Understanding of OWASP Top 10 security vulnerabilities and secure coding practices is required.
Proficiency in using database software, Internet software, and project management software is necessary.
AWS Solution Architect certification and a passion for higher education are preferred.
