Description:

  • As a Lead Software Engineer at Remo, you will be the technical leader of a team focused on enhancing the provider experience within the innovative dementia care platform.
  • Your responsibilities will include writing code, facilitating technical discussions, planning and leading major complex projects, and reviewing peers' code.
  • You will own deliverables, identify roadblocks, mitigate risks, and suggest course corrections when necessary.
  • Your leadership will shape the team's and organization's technical direction.
  • You will design and build scalable systems to support the growing user base and evolving healthcare needs.
  • Solving complex healthcare problems by engineering resilient solutions to improve dementia care will be a key part of your role.
  • You will deliver high-quality features using the core tech stack (React, TypeScript, Next.js, GraphQL, PostgreSQL) to enhance the provider experience.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally, gathering requirements, leading projects, and mentoring engineers will be essential.
  • Implementing healthcare standards and technologies like FHIR, HL7, DICOM, and integrating with existing healthcare systems will be part of your responsibilities.
  • Prioritizing security and implementing industry-standard practices to safeguard patient data will be crucial.
  • Designing and implementing automated tests to maintain high-quality standards will also be part of your role.
  • You will work with autonomy to make critical technology choices, coordinate your team's work, and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Providing technical mentorship to fellow engineers and coordinating peer activities will be regular tasks.
  • Reporting to the Engineering Manager and CTO is part of the role.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on designing and building large-scale systems in healthcare.
  • Proficiency in FHIR, HL7, X12, ADT, PACS, DICOM, and EHR / EMR systems.
  • Strong knowledge of architecture (Docker, Node.js/TypeScript, GraphQL) and cloud environments (AWS or Aptible).
  • Experience leading technical design discussions, providing guidance on best practices, coding standards, and architecture principles.
  • Experience building full-stack user-facing features prioritizing performance optimization and security.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams, mentor engineers, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Experience designing and implementing GraphQL APIs with a focus on security and performance.
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL, relational databases, and messaging systems.
  • Familiarity with compliance and health data privacy standards (SOC 2, HIPAA, HITRUST) is a plus.
