Remote Lead Software Engineer, Backend

Description:

• Vannevar Labs is seeking a Lead Software Engineer, Backend to work on next-generation defense software for public servants.
• The team believes in public service and aims to improve democracy and government technology.
• The company is expanding its product ecosystem, and the Platform team focuses on shared services & infrastructure like data pipelines, authn/authz services, and API tooling.
• The role involves designing elegant software solutions, hands-on coding in multiple domains, and collaborating with other teams and stakeholders.
• The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of software development experience, experience with backend data processing at a large scale, excellent communication skills, and familiarity with tech stack including NodeJS, Python, Temporal, Qdrant, and AWS.
• U.S. Person status is required for this position due to the need to access U.S. only data systems.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with backend data processing at large scale.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Preference for experience with tech stack: NodeJS, Python, Temporal, Qdrant, AWS (RDS, Opensearch, S3).
• Preference for a previous security clearance.
• U.S. Person status required.
