Description:

  • The Lead Software Engineer (Cloud) will work remotely from Connecticut or Illinois.
  • This role involves architecting and developing innovative solutions within the Research and Development organization.
  • The engineer will shape the technical direction of new product lines, ensuring they are secure, stable, and compliant with industry standards.
  • Responsibilities include leading the design and development of cloud-based solutions that meet security, stability, and compliance requirements.
  • The engineer will collaborate with Product Owners and Managers to understand customer needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • They will oversee the implementation of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline development processes.
  • The role includes providing mentorship and guidance to team members, promoting best practices in software development and cloud technologies.
  • Conducting code reviews and ensuring adherence to coding standards and quality metrics is also part of the job.
  • The engineer will manage the integration of client-side utilities with REST APIs to ensure seamless functionality.
  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation for software solutions and processes is required.
  • Participation in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, is expected.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 6-10 years of experience as a software engineer, focusing on cloud technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Python, or C++ is required.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is necessary.
  • A strong understanding of security best practices in software development is essential.
  • Candidates should have experience with RESTful API design and integration.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes is required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically are necessary.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for this role.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
