Description:

The Lead Software Engineer (Cloud) will work remotely from Connecticut or Illinois.
This role involves architecting and developing innovative solutions within the Research and Development organization.
The engineer will shape the technical direction of new product lines, ensuring they are secure, stable, and compliant with industry standards.
Responsibilities include leading the design and development of cloud-based solutions that meet security, stability, and compliance requirements.
The engineer will collaborate with Product Owners and Managers to understand customer needs and translate them into technical solutions.
They will oversee the implementation of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline development processes.
The role includes providing mentorship and guidance to team members, promoting best practices in software development and cloud technologies.
Conducting code reviews and ensuring adherence to coding standards and quality metrics is also part of the job.
The engineer will manage the integration of client-side utilities with REST APIs to ensure seamless functionality.
Developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation for software solutions and processes is required.
Participation in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, is expected.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 6-10 years of experience as a software engineer, focusing on cloud technologies.
Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Python, or C++ is required.
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is necessary.
A strong understanding of security best practices in software development is essential.
Candidates should have experience with RESTful API design and integration.
Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes is required.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically are necessary.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for this role.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $160,000 to $180,000 per year.
