Description:
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in building the Developer Experience team and managing critical infrastructure and services that support engineering across the organization.
You will define best practices, shape internal guidelines, and lead initiatives to enhance developer workflows, tooling, and system reliability.
The role includes mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and delivering high-impact projects that facilitate faster, safer, and more scalable product development.
You will collaborate with a diverse team of product, design, application engineers, data engineers, and AI experts to create innovative solutions to evolving engineering challenges.
Responsibilities include designing, implementing, automating, maintaining, and scaling production environments and shared services that support critical engineering systems.
You will build and own internal platforms, tools, and services that improve the developer experience across the organization.
The position involves driving improvements in CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, observability, and deployment workflows.
You will leverage your knowledge of security and compliance best practices to ensure the security of systems and data.
Continual monitoring and ensuring the health and uptime of the production environment and its dependencies will be part of your duties.
You will mentor and support engineers through code reviews, design sessions, and knowledge sharing.
Researching and integrating emerging technologies, including AI/LLM tools, into developer workflows will be expected.
You will participate in shaping the technical roadmap and strategic decisions for developer platforms and help foster a culture of engineering excellence, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
You must have 5+ years of professional experience in the software development industry.
A solid background in backend engineering, including designing APIs, implementing asynchronous services, and managing distributed systems, is required.
Proficiency with AWS services and cloud infrastructure, including a working understanding of VPCs, IAM, EC2, ECS, and S3, is necessary.
Familiarity with CI/CD practices and pipeline tools like GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Jenkins is essential, with a focus on automation and developer efficiency.
You should be comfortable working with Linux-based systems, containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code platforms such as Terraform or Ansible.
Hands-on scripting knowledge in Python, Bash, or JavaScript is required to streamline internal tools and workflows.
Exposure to monitoring and observability stacks such as Signoz, Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog, or New Relic is expected.
An understanding of relational and non-relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Redshift is necessary.
Experience collaborating across technical and non-technical teams, contributing to architecture decisions, and aligning engineering with strategic goals is important.
Basic familiarity with security best practices, networking concepts, and cloud-native identity/access systems is required.
A track record of mentoring and developing team members, contributing to a culture of continuous growth and shared success, is essential.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience in backend or DevOps engineering is required.
