Description:

  • Dscout is seeking a Lead Software Engineer proficient in Elixir to join their team of People Nerds.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in creating and launching new products, with a focus on technical aspects like performance and scalability.
  • They should be familiar with SaaS-focused modern backends, API development, SQL, and occasional frontend tasks.
  • The team values collaboration, agility, and technical quality, deploying to production frequently.
  • The backend tech stack includes GraphQL APIs, video processing, WebRTC, WebSockets, and background job workflows.
  • Responsibilities include working in a cross-functional team, mentoring engineers, focusing on backend development, and ensuring technical quality.
  • The role involves developing customer-facing applications, collaborating with the design team, and applying a DevOps mindset to improve the Continuous Delivery pipeline.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience as a software engineer.
  • Track record of leading and mentoring engineers.
  • Proficiency in Elixir and its ecosystem (minimum 1 year).
  • Good working knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience with full stack architectures, API design, and implementation.
  • Solid experience in production troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and tuning.
  • Familiarity with frontend development, agile, DevOps, and CI/CD.
  • Experience with cloud architectures.
