Description:

  • The Lead Software Engineer at Fandango will work on systems and services critical to Fandango and Sports Next businesses.
  • Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving back-end software and services using Java, Node.js, or Python.
  • The role involves collaborating with peers, interacting with Product Managers and Quality Engineers, participating in Agile ceremonies, and troubleshooting production issues.
  • The Lead Software Engineer will also lead and mentor team members on technical and design issues.

Requirements:

  • A BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a software engineer in a back-end or full-stack capacity.
  • Deep understanding of software design patterns, secure coding best practices, and computer science fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in Node.js, Python, Java, SQL, GraphQL, and experience with various data stores and RESTful APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, infrastructure, technical security fundamentals, Git, and source code control management.
  • Desired characteristics include passion for software development, collaboration, eagerness to learn and teach, initiative to solve problems, and experience with agile environments and cloud technologies.
