Remote Lead Software Engineer, Frontend

Description:

• The Lead Software Engineer will focus on developing and leading frontend React-based web applications to create engaging user interfaces.
• They will need a deep understanding of frontend technologies, particularly React, and modern design patterns for scalable, responsive, and visually compelling web applications.
• Backend experience with Ruby or Python is also expected.
• This role involves inspiring and mentoring a team of engineers to foster a culture of innovation, precision, and collaboration.
• The ideal candidate will drive the team to deliver results aligning with Torch's goals of growth and customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

• A degree in Computer Science, a related STEM field, or equivalent practical knowledge.
• Expertise in JavaScript (React) and TypeScript.
• Experience leading teams in delivering multiple impactful projects.
• Comprehensive understanding of testing methodologies for high-quality user experiences.
• Commitment to delivering pixel-perfect UI and upholding accessibility standards.
• Skilled in building RESTful and GraphQL web services.
• Background in developing design systems and libraries.
• Understanding of distributed application design patterns and asynchronous programming models.
• Familiarity with Python or Ruby and relational/non-relational databases.
• Proficiency with Git and cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
