Remote Lead Software Engineer - IDE & Dev Tools

Description:

• The Lead Software Engineer will bridge the gap between developers' requirements and infrastructure solutions to enhance the developer experience.
• They will evaluate existing development tools and create proprietary tools and systems to improve the developer experience and address team-specific challenges.
• Collaborate with software development and infrastructure teams to understand system needs and constraints for optimal solutions.
• Act as a hands-on technical leader in designing and implementing new systems and tools.
• Responsible for overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of IDE solutions.
• Lead the technical product strategy for client initiatives and communicate progress effectively to stakeholders.
• Ensure product development aligns with business objectives and client needs.
• Utilize agile methodologies to drive product development and ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.

Requirements:

• Minimum 8 years of experience as a software developer, platform, or cloud infrastructure engineer.
• Proficiency as a full-stack developer with a strong grasp of system design.
• Experience in creating software abstractions and tools to enhance developer productivity.
• Familiarity with CI/CD governance, monitoring, and metrics-driven architecture.
• Experience with debuggers and build systems integration.
• Proficiency in working with IDEs and Language Server Protocols (LSPs).
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and container orchestration.
• Ability to communicate platform solutions effectively to drive adoption across teams.
• Experience collaborating with vendors and third parties to deliver solutions (e.g., VSCode, IntelliJ, Eclipse).
• Strong understanding of agile engineering practices and ownership of service availability and performance.
