Description:

Monarch Money is seeking an experienced Software Engineer with a focus on Machine Learning to join their fully-remote team.
The role involves proposing, exploring, and executing the use of ML in Monarch Money's existing and future product features.
As the first ML engineer, you will work with a lot of autonomy and be expected to own the full implementation of your projects.
You will help harness ML to improve personal financial lives and will be a thought leader in the industry.
Responsibilities include proposing and prioritizing ideas for ML applications, rapidly prototyping and experimenting with ideas, training and tuning ML models, collaborating with Product Engineering and Data teams, deploying ML models to production, and building ML infrastructure and tooling.

Requirements:

Experience with GenAI, including techniques like Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and Agentic models, as well as evaluation techniques for GenAI models.
Familiarity with classic ML models, particularly those focused on Natural Language Processing (NLP), including TF-IDF, SVMs, BERT, and Word2Vec, and comfort with generating and using embeddings.
Strong collaboration and communication skills, along with a sharp product sense.
Comfort working with large-scale data, especially sensitive data.
