Description:

Thrive Market is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join their Product Engineering team, which collaborates with Product Managers and Feature teams to enhance the e-commerce grocery experience.
The role involves owning a pod within the product engineering organization and working with talented engineers to create impactful product features that delight members and drive revenue.
Responsibilities include developing REST and JSON API services, decomposing existing services into scalable microservices, and building services that scale horizontally with low latency.
The engineer will work with technologies such as Golang, Python, PHP, Java, AWS, and Kafka, and will implement test-driven development to ensure customer experience and reliability.
The position requires incorporating meaningful metrics into new services, troubleshooting issues with cross-functional teams, and innovating ideas for customer experience.
The Lead Engineer will enforce best practices, strategically plan and assign tasks to level up the team, and own the service level agreements (SLAs) around APIs.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 7+ years of experience developing high-traffic responsive cross-platform sites.
A working knowledge of Linux, relational and NoSQL databases, and serverless architecture is required.
Applicants should understand the tradeoffs between different architecture choices and database technologies.
Experience with various AWS services such as Lambda, S3, and CloudWatch is necessary.
Candidates must have experience building n-tier applications capable of supporting millions of transactions per day.
A history of shipping multiple high-impact use cases in customer-facing products is essential.
Understanding scaling and performance in a microservice architecture is required.
Proficiency in version control systems like Git is necessary.
Candidates should have experience with observability and monitoring tools like New Relic.
