Description:

  • Overstory is seeking a Lead SRE Engineer to contribute to solving the climate crisis by providing real-time intelligence on the planet's vegetation using machine learning applied to satellite imagery.
  • The role involves evolving the strategic management of GCP infrastructure, implementing DevOps practices like incident management, SLOs, and error budgets, and promoting observability to enhance mean time to recover.
  • Responsibilities include championing DORA metrics to improve product development, optimizing GCP usage, and managing costs effectively.
  • The company relies on technologies such as Terraform, Python, Postgres, Docker, Dagster, and GCP for cloud hosting.

Requirements:

  • Prioritizing collaboratively between tactical problems and strategic direction.
  • Proficiency in working in a Unix-based environment and driving Infrastructure-As-Code principles.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to express ideas to various audiences.
  • Proactive mindset, well-organized, and adept at managing competing deadlines.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, eager to solve new problems and learn new skills.
  • Familiarity with data pipelines, workload schedulers, and AI-ops processes.
  • Ability to work in an async-first environment.
  • Residing in specific European countries: the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Ireland, Switzerland, Estonia, Portugal, France, or Sweden.
