Description:
As a Linux Network Administrator, you will provide technical and operational first-line IT support to the business to ensure continuous operational effectiveness.
You may also provide second-line support for specific IT products, systems, and third-party applications as needed.
Responsibilities include configuring, monitoring, and maintaining LAN/WAN infrastructure, routers, and switches to ensure optimal network performance.
You will provide after-hours first-line technical support to all staff members when required.
You will install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat), including routine patching and upgrades.
Implement security best practices (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN) and ensure systems are regularly audited and patched.
Ensure all work is captured in the logging/ticketing system and close calls as needed.
Treat all company staff members as valued customers.
Monitor and report any system alerts to line management and meet with the team weekly to discuss problems and progress.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly, including on-call escalation support.
