Description:
The Linux System Administrator at ARETUM will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux systems and servers.
They will work closely with the development team to ensure the proper functioning and security of the Linux infrastructure.
The role involves supporting a system modernization effort, maintaining and standing up a Linux platform, and developing new applications if required.
The administrator will apply in-depth knowledge of DISA Security Technical Information Guidelines (STIG) to install, configure, and set up Linux environments under mandatory security requirements.
General IT requirements, installation, configuration, maintenance, and security in a classified or unclassified network environment will be performed.
Server operating systems will be administered, including performance monitoring, operations planning, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.
The ability to harden systems to be in compliance with DoD RMF policies is essential.
Creating and maintaining end-user documentation for operating procedures is part of the responsibilities.
Staying updated on DoD security, technical guidelines, and organizational policies is required.
The position may require working during non-business hours and participating in an on-call rotation to provide Tier 3 response to outages or abnormal conditions within a specified time frame.
Requirements:
10+ years of experience administering, installing, and implementing complex Linux-based systems and software solutions.
Experience with installation, configuration, and administration of Apache HTTPD and Tomcat.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies.
Active Top Secret clearance is mandatory.
Ability to multitask and function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.
Top Secret Clearance.
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security + CE or equivalent) is required.
