Description:

Rackspace is looking for a Linux Systems Engineer with scripting experience to work on their multi-tenant email platform.
The team is responsible for the design, development, testing, and deployment of various email subsystems.
These systems handle the sending and receiving of hundreds of millions of messages daily and provide access to petabytes of email data for millions of users.
The primary responsibility includes the implementation of complex designs and the development of large-scale distributed systems.
The job complexity involves ensuring the completeness of the technical infrastructure to support system performance, staying updated with emerging technologies and trends in the email industry, and following Rackspace change management processes.
Responsibilities also include participating in systems/code reviews and design sessions, conducting Root Cause Analysis, presenting technical talks to internal groups, and taking full ownership of the product life cycle.

Requirements:

A minimum of 10+ years of Linux systems experience, including systems administration or engineering experience, is required.
Scripting language development experience in Bash, Python, Ruby, or similar is necessary.
Experience in building and packaging software for deployments using meta package managers like Yum, Apt, or PIP is required.
Familiarity with Internet email protocols such as POP, IMAP, and SMTP, as well as email architecture, is essential.
Experience in installing and configuring IMAP/POP email servers (e.g., Dovecot, Courier) is required.
Experience in installing and configuring mail transport agents (e.g., Postfix, Sendmail, Momentum) is necessary.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred.
An RHCE certification is preferred.
