Description:

• Kora, a marketplace for payments in Africa, is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to optimize processes, identify growth opportunities, and build AI products.
• The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, developing custom tools, algorithms, and models, and automating deployment workflows.
• Responsibilities include data acquisition, anomaly detection, designing machine learning systems, training algorithms, and presenting insights using data visualization techniques.
• The position requires staying updated on data science and machine learning developments and continuously researching to ensure quality outcomes.
• The Machine Learning Engineer will report directly to the Head of Operations at Kora and participate in a thorough interview process.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in developing custom solutions using data science and machine learning.
• Portfolio showcasing live solutions and disruptive thinking.
• Passion for delivering exceptional user experiences and learning from users.
• Data-driven approach, ability to take responsibility for data architecture, and work autonomously.
• Proficiency in data science and machine learning tools like tableau, Python, numPY, and Jupyter.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to speak fluently in data.
• Positive energy, adaptability to change, and effective workload management.
• Nice to have: experience in data engineering, B.Sc in relevant fields, and a portfolio of projects demonstrating problem-solving with data science and machine learning.
