The Marketplace Relevance team builds Artificially Intelligent systems and algorithms that power Houzz search, recommendation, and personalization.
As a Machine Learning Engineer at Houzz, you will work at the forefront of innovation, leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
You will be responsible for taking high-level production problems, coming up with technical solutions, and driving the project from planning to production.
You will work closely with other team members to help build shared systems.
The role involves working cross-functionally across engineering, product, and design teams.
The tech stack includes Python, Java, Golang, SQL, Elasticsearch/Solr, Redis, and more.

Requirements:

Proven experience applying machine learning to build systems such as Search, Recommendation, Advertising, etc., with a track record of developing and deploying machine learning models in production.
A solid understanding of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques is required.
A deep understanding of business results and drivers, along with a strong drive to influence business decisions and metrics, is essential.
You must have the ability to effectively work with business leads, demonstrating strong communication skills and the ability to synthesize data models and expert intuition into conclusions for non-experts.
Solid coding skills in a common programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or C++ are necessary.
Independence, self-motivation, and the drive to get tasks done are crucial.
A M.S., B.S., or Ph.D. (preferred) in Computer Science or related engineering disciplines is required.
A minimum of 3+ years of full-time relevant industry experience is expected.
