Ground News is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join their team remotely in Canada.
The company aims to provide a platform that allows users to compare news sources, understand media bias, and break free from algorithms.
The successful candidate will work on pioneering new AI applications tailored for the news landscape, with access to rich datasets from over 50,000 news sources.
Responsibilities include collaborating with Data Engineers, Machine Learning engineers, and software developers to integrate AI solutions into the platform.
The role involves owning and maintaining ML projects across the full stack, working on LLM-powered applications related to news, and coordinating cross-team efforts for feature creation.
Requirements:
Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in building production web applications, preferably in lean and agile work environments.
Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React.js, and Next.js is required.
Experience with MySQL, Express, and Node.js for backend development is necessary.
Strong API design skills, including designing and documenting RESTful APIs for web and mobile platforms, are essential.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are needed to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
