Description:

  • Talentus is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join their dynamic team in Costa Rica.
  • The role involves designing, developing, and implementing machine learning models and algorithms tailored to healthcare data and client needs.
  • Responsibilities include deploying machine learning models into production environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • The engineer will collaborate with data engineers to preprocess and clean data, ensuring high-quality inputs for model training and validation.
  • Monitoring model performance and conducting regular maintenance to ensure accuracy and effectiveness over time is essential.
  • The position requires close collaboration with data scientists, healthcare experts, and client teams to understand requirements and deliver customized solutions.
  • Documentation of methodologies, processes, and model configurations is necessary to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
  • The engineer is expected to stay current with the latest research and advancements in machine learning, AI, and healthcare analytics to continuously improve and innovate solutions.
  • Providing expert advice and recommendations to clients on the application of machine learning in healthcare settings is also part of the role.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have prior development experience with R, Python, Java, or other analytics/data mining tools, databases, and computer programming.
  • Practical fluency and working proficiency in a broad array of statistical methods such as description and inferential statistics, multivariate regression, clustering, neural networks, predictive modeling, forecasting, machine learning, text mining, and optimization algorithms are required.
  • Prior experience in building and deploying predictive models and other analytic assets is necessary.
  • Candidates should have experience in SQL/Database programming, including stored procedures, functions, temporary tables, parameterization, complex joins, and groupings.
  • Extensive data modeling and data architecture skills are required.
  • A background in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or Keras is essential.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Computing or another distributed computing system is necessary.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, with English proficiency at C1 level or above.
  • An advanced degree in computer science, math, statistics, or a related discipline is required.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment is preferred.
  • Superior communication skills and the ability to tailor language to a broad variety of potential stakeholders are essential.
  • The ability to inspire followership and mobilize change agents that act as multipliers and foster a positive mindset is important.
  • Candidates should be able to assess stakeholders' training needs and address them through coaching in inclusive and collaborative ways.
