Quora is a remote-first company, allowing this position to be performed remotely from multiple countries around the world.
The mission of Quora is to grow and share the world’s knowledge through its knowledge-sharing products, Quora and Poe.
The Monetization team focuses on optimizing the advertising product at Quora, covering the entire Machine Learning Ads lifecycle from end-to-end.
Machine Learning Engineers are encouraged to think big and experiment with new ideas, using continuous deployment to quickly see changes in the product.
Engineers are responsible for creating polished products and writing high-quality code by designing extensible and maintainable APIs and abstractions.
The role involves improving existing machine learning systems, taking ownership of machine learning systems, applying state-of-the-art algorithms, collaborating with engineers, and identifying new opportunities for machine learning in the Ads product.

Requirements:

Candidates must be available for meetings during Quora's coordination hours (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time).
A minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience in machine learning is required.
Previous experience in Adtech, specifically in developing ad targeting, retrieval, or recommender systems is necessary.
Candidates should have experience building large-scale ranking or recommendation systems.
A good understanding of the mathematical foundations of machine learning algorithms is essential.
Proficiency in coding with Python, C++, or Golang is required.
A BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is mandatory.

For US candidates, the salary range is $120,800 - $232,750 USD plus equity and benefits.
