Description:

Quora is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer for their Ads team to optimize the advertising product.
The role involves covering the entire Machine Learning Ads lifecycle, including ads targeting, ranking, auction dynamics, and quality measurement.
Engineers are encouraged to think big, experiment with new ideas, and focus on creating polished products with high-quality code.
The position offers flexibility and autonomy as a remote-first company, allowing engineers to have a significant impact on the product and company.
The team supports thousands of advertisers reaching over 300 million+ monthly unique visitors on Quora and is continuously working on new products and challenges at scale.
Responsibilities include improving existing machine learning systems, taking ownership of machine learning systems end-to-end, applying state-of-the-art algorithms, collaborating with cross-functional partners, and identifying new opportunities for machine learning applications in the Ads product.

Requirements:

Must be available for meetings and communication during Quora's “coordination hours” (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time).
Requires 3+ years of professional software development experience in machine learning.
Previous experience in Adtech, developing ad targeting/retrieval/recommender systems, and building large-scale ranking/recommendation systems.
Good understanding of mathematical foundations of machine learning algorithms.
Highly proficient in writing Python, C++, or Golang code.
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
