The company is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer Apprentice to contribute to the ML Engineering team, which focuses on enabling intelligent systems for users and partners.
The role involves developing ML models and the infrastructure needed to operationalize them at scale, including data management, model development, and deployment in production settings.
The apprentice will work closely with backend, devops, and data scientists, and will be expected to create value in a fast-moving environment.
Candidates should have experience with training and deploying ML models, particularly in high-traffic production environments.
This position is not a college internship and requires graduation by June 2024.
Requirements:
Candidates must have excellent programming skills, particularly in Python, and proficiency in other programming languages is welcome.
Experience in training ML models using frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow is required.
Applicants should have experience deploying models in production environments that handle significant traffic, processing hundreds of events per second.
Experience working with a meaningful-sized codebase (minimum of a thousand lines) over an extended period is necessary.
Bonus points for excellent written and verbal communication skills, independent problem-solving abilities, and deep expertise in PyTorch/TensorFlow.
Additional preferred skills include experience with model servers, ONNX, TensorRT, CUDA, OpenAI Triton, search, ranking, ads, streaming data, Kafka, and deploying applications in public cloud environments like AWS.
Benefits:
The apprenticeship is a 3-month program that offers challenging and meaningful work, providing significant experience and growth as an engineer.
The position pays $40 per hour for a minimum of 40 hours of work per week.
Apprentices will receive a free Mac laptop, monitors, and any other necessary equipment to ensure success.
Apprentices will work on the same projects as permanent employees and will not be treated differently.
There is no expectation for the role to convert to a full-time position, and there are no health benefits during the apprenticeship.
Fetch provides an onboarding buddy on the first day to assist new apprentices.
