Description:
Tecton helps companies unlock the full potential of their data for AI applications by streamlining the complex process of preparing and delivering data to models.
The Machine Learning Engineer will be responsible for bringing Tecton’s existing technology foundation to customers’ GenAI use cases.
The role involves expanding Tecton’s offering into a versatile platform for diverse GenAI use cases, including hosting RAG applications and using LLMs to extract features.
The engineer will work directly with ML/AI Platform teams and use case teams, gaining exposure to production AI applications that impact customers’ bottom lines.
Responsibilities include defining and leading Tecton’s GenAI strategy, driving initiatives from ideation to delivery, and collaborating with cross-functional teams and Product Managers.
The engineer will identify, develop, and validate important end-to-end GenAI use cases and work closely with customers to launch impactful new capabilities rapidly.
An experimental and iterative approach is required, prioritizing swift progress and navigating a high degree of ambiguity.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's, Master's, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required; a PhD with a focus on AI/ML or NLP is a plus.
A minimum of 6+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Software Engineer specializing in machine learning infrastructure or GenAI applications is required.
A proven track record of building, fine-tuning, and deploying machine learning or generative AI models in production environments is necessary.
Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with libraries such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX/Flax is essential.
Hands-on expertise with deep learning frameworks and familiarity with libraries like Hugging Face Transformers for LLM development is required.
Experience with large language models (LLMs) such as GPT, BERT, Llama, or Claude, including fine-tuning and deploying LLMs in production, is necessary.
Proficiency in working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for deploying ML/GenAI pipelines is required.
A good familiarity with the rapidly evolving market and the ability to identify valuable opportunities is essential.
A pronounced inclination toward experimental and iterative approaches is necessary, along with the ability to navigate ambiguity.
Proven competency in driving projects from ideation to delivery in a collaborative environment is required; previous experience on 0 to 1 projects is a plus.
Benefits:
The estimated US base salary range for this position is $189,000 - $258,000 annually for employees based in California and New York.
In addition to base salary, Tecton offers competitive equity and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
