Description:

Hugging Face is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer Intern to join the Gradio team, which is responsible for the most widely used library for building and sharing machine learning demos.
The intern will work on a suite of AI tools aimed at helping users understand and write Gradio code, starting with the Playground, a code editor that generates or updates Gradio demos based on user queries.
The main objective is to expand the effort by leveraging approximately 500k Gradio spaces and thousands of user prompts to build a sophisticated model pipeline that provides context on how Gradio operates.
The role involves contributing to the evolution of Gradio from a library to an ecosystem for machine learning developers, enhancing tools that assist users in learning, building, and contributing to Gradio.

Requirements:

Candidates should have experience using modern deep learning libraries and LLM APIs, with an understanding of the tradeoffs between different models and APIs.
Knowledge of fine-tuning LLMs, creating retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, and using re-rankers for two-stage retrieval is required.
Comfort in exploring and contributing to a codebase that includes Python and Svelte-flavored JavaScript is essential.
A "product mindset" is necessary, with a willingness to experiment with different user interfaces to create useful products for a large user base.
