The role involves utilizing various open-source technologies such as Python, Spark, Kafka, Delta, Bazel, and MLFlow.
Responsibilities include designing, prototyping, and building machine learning systems, frameworks, pipelines, libraries, utilities, and tools for processing data for ML tasks.
The engineer will translate data science prototypes into scalable production implementations and partner with data scientists to troubleshoot and optimize complex data pipelines.
The position requires building a Machine Learning Platform that simplifies the implementation of new models and creating end-to-end reusable pipelines from data acquisition to model output delivery.
The engineer will identify opportunities to apply ML for solving technical and data engineering problems to improve business results.
Additional tasks include designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining production-grade scalable data transformation, machine learning, time series models, and deep learning code, pipelines, and dashboards.
The role also involves managing data and model versioning, training, tuning, serving, and experiment and evaluation tracking implementations, as well as performing code reviews to ensure adherence to architecture, code, and data standards.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3+ years of solid hands-on Machine Learning Engineering experience with a focus on MLOps.
Proven experience in building and deploying machine learning models using Python libraries such as MLFlow, MLRun, scikit-learn, PyTorch, and MLLib is required.
Proficiency in programming languages including Python (PySpark) and SQL, with exposure to other languages like Scala, Java, C#, and JavaScript.
A thorough understanding of programming fundamentals such as object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithm design is essential.
Experience with distributed compute engines like Apache Spark, cloud-based MPP databases (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift), and Data Lakes (Azure Data Lake, S3) is necessary.
Candidates should have expertise in building software and systems that scale with a focus on MLOps.
Experience in integrating Machine Learning models in production (batch, streaming, and online) is required.
Fluency in Machine Learning algorithms and experience in writing data pipeline and machine learning libraries and utilities is expected.
Industry experience in building and productionizing innovative end-to-end Machine Learning systems is a must.
Benefits:
Gorilla Logic offers a full-time salary position with the flexibility of remote work from Colombia or Costa Rica.
