• The Recommender System team works on optimizing the content distribution system at Quora, covering the entire Machine Learning lifecycle from end-to-end.
• Responsibilities include improving existing machine learning systems, taking ownership of machine learning systems, applying state-of-the-art algorithms, collaborating with engineers, improving recommender model design, and identifying new opportunities for machine learning applications.

Requirements:

• Candidates must be available for meetings during Quora's coordination hours (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time).
• A minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience in machine learning is required.
• Previous experience in building large-scale ranking/recommendation systems is necessary.
• A good understanding of the mathematical foundations of machine learning algorithms is essential.
• Candidates must have highly proficient coding skills in Python, C++, or Golang.
• A BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
• Preferred qualifications include experience leading large-scale multi-engineer projects, being a flexible and positive team player, and having a passion for Quora's mission.
