Description:

The Machine Learning Intern/Co-op position is a full-time internship for Summer 2025, available remotely in Canada.
The role involves shipping state-of-the-art models to production and designing and implementing novel research ideas.
Interns will build elegant training and deployment pipelines and contribute to increasing the capabilities of machine learning models.
Responsibilities include designing, training, and improving cutting-edge models, developing new techniques for safer and faster model training, and training large-scale models on massive datasets.
Interns will explore continual and active learning strategies for streaming data and work closely with product teams to develop solutions.
The recruitment process will begin soon, and candidates will be assessed for their qualifications and fit for the role.

Requirements:

Candidates must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary program and available for a full-time 3-6 month internship, co-op, or research work term.
Proficiency in Python and related machine learning frameworks such as Tensorflow, TF-Serving, JAX, and XLA/MLIR is required.
Experience with large-scale distributed training strategies is necessary.
Familiarity with autoregressive sequence models, such as Transformers, is expected.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
A demonstrated passion for applied NLP models and products is important.
Bonus qualifications include experience writing kernels for GPUs using CUDA, experience training on TPUs, and having papers published at top-tier venues (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR).
