Remote Machine Learning Lead

Description:

• Loka is seeking a Machine Learning Team Lead to deploy, secure, and maintain ML models in production environments, primarily on AWS.
• The role involves leading a team of ML engineers in architecting, building, and optimizing scalable, cost-efficient ML models while ensuring performance in production environments.
• The candidate will provide constructive feedback through regular one-on-one meetings and drive technical and professional development within the team.
• Responsibilities include managing end-to-end ML projects, from data exploration to model development, deployment, and scaling, while delivering solutions that meet business and client needs.
• The Machine Learning Team Lead will collaborate with stakeholders to align ML initiatives with strategic objectives and ensure clear communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• The role requires driving technical innovation by staying current with the latest AI/ML trends and implementing cutting-edge techniques.
• The candidate will foster the team's professional growth by creating development plans and encouraging a positive, collaborative remote working environment.
• The position involves owning the development and automation of ML workflows, including data pipelines and model deployment, focusing on scalability and efficiency.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with Data Engineering, DevOps, BackEnd, and other teams is essential to deliver cohesive solutions.
• The Machine Learning Team Lead will work closely with senior leadership to align ML initiatives with long-term company strategies.

Requirements:

• The candidate must have 5+ years of experience in machine learning, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of Python and ML libraries and frameworks such as PyTorch, HuggingFace, and TensorFlow is required.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI solutions using LLMs, including prompt engineering and an understanding of common patterns like RAG and NLQ, is necessary.
• Client-facing experience is essential, including the ability to gather requirements, set expectations, and deliver technical presentations to non-technical audiences.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
• Excellent English language skills are mandatory.
• A clean criminal record is required.
• The CV must be written in English.
• Experience with AWS and in consultancy environments or startups is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with MLOps best practices and tools is a nice-to-have.
