Remote Mid Backend Engineer (Microloan)

Description:

• The Senior Backend Engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing and transforming the existing microloan product at Baubap, a Mexican fintech startup.
• Responsibilities include architecting, developing, and optimizing the backend infrastructure to ensure seamless functionality, scalability, and a great user experience.
• The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate new features, enhance system performance and security, and implement analytics tools for continuous improvement.
• The engineer will work towards increasing disbursement and repayment rates, contributing to the mission of providing accessible financial products to customers.
• Day-to-day tasks involve collaborating with various teams, designing and implementing robust backend solutions, optimizing system performance and security, and spearheading the development of innovative features.
• The engineer will also mentor junior developers, analyze user feedback, and prioritize development tasks.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Proficiency in applying SOLID principles and working with data storage technologies like MySQL and caching databases.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, API design, RESTful principles, data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Soft skills include problem-solving, analytical skills, communication, teamwork, mentoring, proactive attitude, and ability to work independently.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and familiarity with agile development methodologies.
