Remote Mid-level Backend Software Engineer | Payments

Description:

• Wellhub (formerly Gympass) is seeking a Mid-level Backend Software Engineer for their Payments team in Brazil.
• The GPS team manages the platform processing millions of transactions globally for Wellhub.
• The ideal candidate will work with a team of ~5 engineers from Brazil and Portugal.
• Experience in e-commerce/financial services and PCI/DSS compliant environments is preferred.
• Responsibilities include executing strategic projects, influencing checkout conversion rates, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• The role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior engineers and technical leadership.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience.
• Proficiency in RESTful APIs using Java/Kotlin + Spring.
• Openness to learning and growing, with knowledge of software architecture and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with cloud computing (AWS), Cloud Native (K8s), microservices, and high-volume distributed systems.
• Familiarity with SQL technologies like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or other relational databases.
• Good communication skills in English and Portuguese.
