Description:
Zipdev is seeking a remote Site Reliability Engineer to join its team of LatAm developers.
The role involves working as an integrated member of product teams to build, deploy, and reliably monitor cloud services.
Responsibilities include working on complex software development projects to maintain important, revenue-critical services.
The engineer will actively develop code and build frameworks to monitor services deployed in production, driving reliability and performance at scale.
Key tasks include building systems and infrastructure for monitoring large-scale distributed systems, identifying stability and performance issues, and collaborating with developers to address critical production issues.
The engineer will represent the SRE organization in design reviews and operational readiness exercises for both new and existing services.
Responsibilities also include devising methods to actively monitor system throughput, capacity, and reliability, debugging complex systems, engaging in service capacity planning, and driving standardization efforts across multiple disciplines.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience as a System Administrator with programming skills is required.
Candidates must have 3-4 years of proven professional experience as a Site Reliability Engineer.
Experience with one or more general-purpose programming/scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Perl, or Go is necessary.
Fundamental knowledge of technologies across various disciplines, including virtualization, storage, networking, server, and security, is required.
An understanding of systems and application design, including operational trade-offs, is essential.
Demonstrable knowledge of Unix, TCP/IP, HTTP, web application security, and experience supporting multi-tier web application architectures is needed.
Experience in analyzing logs and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems is required.
Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills are essential.
Candidates must currently reside in Latin America.
