PetLab Co. is seeking a Midweight Python Engineer for a permanent, remote position in the UK.

The role involves joining a small team to work on a platform transformation, moving from a monolithic legacy tech stack to Python and microservices.
Responsibilities include web application development for an ecommerce system, focusing on business logic and backend APIs for the customer-facing website, internal tools, and recurring billing system.
Daily tasks will include participating in stand-ups, developing scalable Python microservices for AWS, collaborating with the tech lead, and sharing best practices.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 3+ years of experience as an engineer working with backend technologies such as Python and SQL.
Experience in building quality and highly scalable backend systems is required.
A strong understanding of programming languages and paradigms is essential.
The ideal candidate should be an enthusiastic self-starter capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with excellent communication skills is necessary.
Additional experience with IAC, Microservices, API Gateway, Lambda, Terraform, and AWS Cloud is advantageous.
