Description:

  • We are seeking a Full-stack Game Engineer with experience in developing browser-based games and building game engines.
  • You will work on a long-term project to create an advanced HTML5 browser-based game engine that integrates multiplayer functionality, dynamic in-browser interactions, unified currency systems, and cross-game connectivity.
  • This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative gaming solutions for a global audience.
  • Responsibilities include developing a robust HTML5 browser-based game engine with key features such as multiplayer gaming, a unified currency system similar to Roblox's Robux, dynamic leaderboards relative to player leagues, replay functionality similar to StarCraft 2 and Id Software games, cross-game points and achievements systems, and time-value exchange systems across multiple games.
  • You will design and implement games like Agar.io, Slither.io, and similar styles using the newly built engine.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, artists, and other developers to deliver seamless gameplay experiences.
  • Optimize game performance for various browsers and devices.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of game data and user information.
  • Stay updated with gaming trends and suggest new features to enhance the engine and games.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in game development, including building engines or multiplayer systems is required.
  • Familiarity with browser-based game ecosystems and design patterns is essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment are necessary.
  • Proficiency in English with strong skills in both written and verbal communication is required.
  • A passion for gaming and knowledge of the latest gaming trends and technologies is important.
  • Technical requirements include proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+), strong knowledge of WebGL and rendering pipelines, hands-on experience with Node.js and NestJS, and expertise in building scalable multiplayer systems with WebSockets, Socket.IO, or Colyseus.
  • Experience working with frameworks like Phaser, Matter.js, or Cannon.js is needed.
  • Familiarity with the Web Audio API for sound design and tools like Webpack or Parcel for asset optimization and management is required.
  • Knowledge of relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL, experience with Redis or Firebase Realtime Database for leaderboards, and cloud hosting proficiency in AWS GameLift, Azure PlayFab, AWS S3, or Azure Blob Storage are necessary.
  • Skilled in implementing replay systems using IndexedDB and custom event logging is required.
  • Implementing security protocols like JWT and Express Rate Limit to protect the system from vulnerabilities is essential.
