Remote Middle Scala Engineer (Social Shopping Platform)

Description:

• We are looking for a Middle Scala Engineer to join our Mobile & Web Solutions department, which consists of over 200 professionals in various technologies.
• The ideal candidate should be a positive thinker with excellent communication skills, capable of starting new projects, engaging new customers, and delivering software of varying complexity.
• The customer is a UK-based company that operates a global marketplace for the fashion industry, allowing users to sell customized or rare clothes and accessories while recycling unwanted items for money.
• The project involves developing a social shopping platform that combines retail and social networking features, focusing on clothing retail.
• Users will have profile pages to post pictures and descriptions of items for sale, including hashtags and additional information for easier searching.
• The main responsibility includes integrating payment systems and working with accessibility features.
• Responsibilities include contributing to new technology investigations, designing complex solutions, communicating with the customer’s team, delivering major solution features, participating in requirements gathering, developing core modules, and performing code reviews along with writing unit and integration tests.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have at least 3+ years of professional software development experience on commercial-grade systems and applications.
• A strong experience in Scala for a minimum of 3 years is required.
• Candidates should have at least 3+ years of experience with AWS and Kafka.
• General front-end web development experience in a production environment is necessary.
• Experience working in an Agile team is required.
• Familiarity with testing, pull requests, code reviews, and releasing is essential.
• An upper-intermediate level of English is mandatory.
• Knowledge of ReactJS would be considered a plus.
