Remote Middle/Senior Data Engineer (SP)

Description:

• The Middle/Senior Data Engineer position at Spendesk involves contributing to new technologies investigations and complex solutions design, focusing on building out ETL processes.
• The role includes working with a modern data stack, implementing data governance processes, and communicating professionally with the customer's team.
• Responsibilities also include delivering major solution features, participating in requirements gathering, proposing optimal architecture strategies, and leading data architecture implementation.
• The Data Engineer will develop core modules and functions, design scalable solutions, perform code reviews, and write unit and integration tests.
• Additionally, the role involves scaling the distributed system and infrastructure, as well as building a data platform using AWS cloud provider.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience with Python for data pipelines and related tools
• Familiarity with distributed data processing using Spark for data pipeline optimization
• Experience with Snowflake and building data transformations in data build tools
• Strong understanding of data modeling and data warehousing best practices
• Proficiency with Looker for data visualization
• Knowledge of how data engineers, data scientists, analytics engineers, and analysts work
• Good written and spoken English communication skills
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices such as testing, PRs, Git, code reviews, and releasing

WOULD BE A PLUS

• Data certifications in Data Engineering or Data Analytics
• Experience with Databricks, Airflow, DAGs, and orchestration tools
• Experience with developing Snowflake-driven data warehouses
• Experience with event-driven data pipelines
