Remote Middle/Senior Scala Developer (Online Shopping Platform)

Description:

• We are looking for a Scala Developer to join our Mobile & Web Solutions department, which consists of over 200 professionals in various technologies.
• The ideal candidate should be a positive thinker with excellent communication skills, capable of starting new projects, engaging new customers, and delivering software of varying complexity.
• Our customer is a UK-based company that operates a global marketplace for the fashion industry, allowing users to sell customized or rare clothes and accessories while recycling unwanted items for money.
• The project involves developing a social shopping platform that combines retail and social networking features, where users can create profile pages to post pictures and descriptions of items for sale.
• The main responsibility will be to enhance the buying and selling experience for users, including payment system integration and working with accessibility features.
• Key tasks include contributing to technology investigations, designing complex solutions, communicating with the customer’s team, delivering major solution features, gathering and clarifying requirements, developing core modules, and performing code reviews along with writing unit and integration tests.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience with Scala.
• A strong understanding of the Scala standard library is required, with advanced functional programming libraries being a plus.
• Experience with Scala-logging using Logback is necessary.
• Proficiency in the Play framework is required.
• Candidates should have experience with Postgres 11.5.
• Familiarity with RabbitMQ or Apache Kafka is essential.
• An upper-intermediate level of English is required for effective communication.
