Honeycomb is a service designed to help engineering teams explore and understand their production systems in real time.
The company is experiencing growth, having closed Series D funding and scaled past 200 employees.
The Storage team is responsible for the systems that store and query large amounts of data.
The role involves building resilient architectures, optimizing query performance, and collaborating with product teams.
The backend systems are primarily built in Go, and while Go experience is not required, a willingness to learn is essential.
Responsibilities include scaling high-throughput services, maintaining and maturing the datastore, supporting software in production, partnering with the team, and experimenting with new approaches.

Requirements:

Candidates should be able to work well with other teams and support engineering efforts.
A strong interest in software quality and testing is necessary, along with experience in maintaining high-quality standards.
Clear and open communication skills are essential, including the ability to give and receive feedback.
Experience with databases, performance-limited environments, or Kubernetes Operators is a plus, but not mandatory.

The position offers a base pay range of $165,000 - $180,000 USD and generous equity options.
