Description:

Nova Credit is seeking a Mid/Senior Software Engineer specializing in API Integration to join their team in Toronto, Canada.
The mission of Nova Credit is to create a more fair and inclusive financial system by improving credit infrastructure and analytics.
The role involves owning the development of high-impact features and improvements to the API integration platform that supports various products.
Responsibilities include integrating new consumer-permissioned data APIs, enhancing observability around API integration, and developing internal tooling and frameworks.
The position requires participation in standard engineering activities such as technical design, code reviews, on-call support, documentation, and sprint ceremonies.
This is a full-time, remote-friendly role open to candidates in Latin America or Canada.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 4+ years of software engineering experience with a U.S. or Canadian-based technology company.
A minimum of 2+ years of experience in integrating external APIs and using related protocols such as https, oauth, jwt, and webhooks is required.
Proficiency in Javascript or Typescript is necessary.
Candidates should be proficient with SQL, including advanced queries, schema design, functions, indexes, and partitioning.
Experience in building JS-based web systems, particularly with Express.js, is required.
Familiarity with observability tools like Grafana, Kibana, or Datadog is essential.
The ability to design efficient solutions in AWS and articulate design decisions is necessary.
A firm grasp of software testing methodologies and troubleshooting skills is required.
Candidates should be curious, self-driven, and eager to learn.

The compensation range for this position is CAD $153,387 - $192,855, depending on experience, skills, education, location, and qualifications.
