Description:

  • Phaidra is seeking an ML Applications Engineer to contribute to the development of AI-powered control systems for the industrial sector.
  • The role involves wearing multiple hats, including Software Engineer, Controls Engineer, Data Scientist, ML Engineer, and Solutions Engineer.
  • Responsibilities include understanding Phaidraโ€™s internal platform, collaborating with Solutions Engineers and the Research team, onboarding and maintaining agents for industrial facilities, and prototyping tools for agent management.
  • The position requires maintaining clear documentation of research, communications, and actions.
  • Phaidra operates 100% remotely and hires employees internationally, with a focus on specific regions including the USA, Canada, UK, and several European countries.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 4+ years of progressive relevant work experience.
  • Previous experience as a Software Engineer, Data Scientist, or Machine Learning Engineer in an industrial controls or process engineering environment is required.
  • A solid understanding of ML concepts and the ability to reason about systems with non-deterministic components is necessary.
  • Knowledge of industrial processing systems, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer is essential.
  • Fluency in a high-level programming language, preferably Python, is required.
  • Candidates should possess natural curiosity, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and alignment with Phaidraโ€™s core values of transparency, collaboration, operational excellence, ownership, and empathy.
  • Bonus points for knowledge of chiller plant fundamentals, previous customer-facing roles, and an understanding of industrial heating and cooling processes.
