Help Scout is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join their fully remote team.
The role involves building AI-powered services from the ground up and delivering endpoints to internal product teams.
Responsibilities include crafting and maintaining workflows to gather data, train, and evaluate models, while solving impactful problems for customers.
The engineer will act as a bridge between backend engineers and ML techniques, providing knowledge and support.
The position requires making data-driven improvements and developing key metrics to assess the success of solutions.
The engineer will advocate for incremental changes and rapid delivery to continually add value for customers.
Keeping up-to-date with new technologies and techniques is essential, as well as collaborating with stakeholders like Product Managers and Designers.

Requirements:

Candidates must be highly skilled, hands-on engineers with a focus on practical ML solutions for real-world challenges.
Expertise and experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI are required.
Practical experience with ML techniques for search and retrieval is necessary.
The candidate should be comfortable with self-directed work and collaboration within a team.
A passion for science and data-driven results is essential to validate ideas.
Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English are required for effective collaboration in a remote setting.
Candidates should be open to feedback and able to balance business and customer needs with agile delivery of scalable code.
Experience in Kotlin is a bonus, although most work will be in Python.

Help Scout offers a competitive salary range of $162,000-$187,000 based on national market data and a competency-based approach.
