Description:

  • ARFA Solutions, LLC is seeking a skilled MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join their team.
  • The DBA will be responsible for managing and maintaining MySQL database systems to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.
  • The role involves collaborating with development and systems teams to implement database solutions that meet business requirements and support application needs.
  • Responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining MySQL database systems to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • The DBA will monitor database performance and optimize queries for efficient data retrieval and storage.
  • Implementing backup and recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and availability is a key responsibility.
  • The role requires managing database security, user access, and permissions, following best practices.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving database issues, including performance bottlenecks and replication challenges, is essential.
  • The DBA will collaborate with development teams to design and implement database schemas, tables, and stored procedures.
  • Documenting database processes, procedures, and configurations is required.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest MySQL developments and best practices is expected.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
  • Candidates must have 5+ years of experience as a MySQL Database Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Strong expertise in MySQL database architecture, administration, and optimization is necessary.
  • Experience with database design, schema management, and SQL query optimization is required.
  • Hands-on experience with backup and recovery solutions for MySQL databases is essential.
  • Familiarity with database replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions is needed.
  • Knowledge of database security best practices, including user access management, is required.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like MySQL Workbench, Percona Monitoring and Management, or others is necessary.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are essential for this role.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities are required.
