Description:
AHEAD is seeking a Network Cloud Engineer to join the Enterprise Cloud Services team.
The successful candidate will have several years of experience in a system engineering role with hands-on experience in datacenters and enterprise-level technologies.
The role requires flexibility in technology exposure and a willingness to learn beyond current knowledge.
The candidate must possess exceptional team player skills and be self-motivated to deliver outstanding customer support.
Responsibilities include acting as a technical interface to AHEAD clients, managing datacenter and cloud-related services, and troubleshooting production problems.
The engineer will design, implement, troubleshoot, analyze, and maintain customer environments.
Duties also include performing hardware and software installations, upgrades, and maintenance, as well as participating in after-hours maintenance and on-call rotation.
The engineer will support Level 2 and Level 3 Engineers and act as an escalation point for Managed Services support technicians.
Standard system administration duties will be required, including equipment installation and log analysis.
The role involves interfacing with third-party vendors and utilizing superior customer service skills.
The engineer will plan and implement system automation to improve service efficiency and create documentation for Managed Services personnel.
Continuous learning to stay updated on new technologies is expected.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 7-9 years of prior IT experience, with service provider experience being a plus.
Prior customer service experience is required.
Working experience with infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and ticketing platforms is necessary.
Candidates should have experience managing and implementing virtualization technologies such as vSphere, Hyper-V, and Prism.
Experience with network virtualization technologies, particularly NSX-T, is preferred.
Knowledge of dynamic routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, ISIS, and EIGRP is required.
Candidates should have a working knowledge of service provider networking and various MPLS technologies.
Experience with firewalls including Cisco ASA/FTD, Palo Alto Networks, and FortiGate is necessary.
Basic Linux administration skills are required.
Candidates must be team players with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage assignments independently.
Analytical and troubleshooting skills are essential, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in documentation creation using Microsoft Visio and Office is required.
Experience with VMware vCloud Director, Zerto Virtual Replication, public clouds (AWS/Azure), and automation/scripting (Ansible/Python/PowerShell) is a plus.
