Description:

Astor & Sanders Corporation is seeking a Network Engineer to join their team in McLean, VA.
This is a full-time position and is remote.
The Network Engineer will be responsible for configuring, administering, and maintaining multiple vendor firewalls.
The role involves collaborating with the Network Architect to support site assessments, diagramming, documenting, and analyzing reports about various networks.
The engineer will design, configure, and secure network solutions to ensure effective and secure network traffic, including on-premise and cloud interactions.
The position requires leveraging Enterprise SIEM to monitor firewalls for anomalies and taking appropriate actions.
The engineer will work with other engineers on technical requirements and communicate these to management.
Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements:

A minimum of four (4) years of enterprise network security experience is required.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is necessary.
Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls is essential.
The candidate must have experience troubleshooting WAN and LAN network issues with connectivity, including working within a TCP/IP (IPV4 & IPV6) environment and using IP protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and spanning tree protocols.
Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools is required.
Knowledge of network security best practices is necessary.
Prior experience with Splunk or a comparable logging system for troubleshooting is preferred.
Experience with IT in a Federal environment is also required.
Preferred hands-on experience includes FortiGate, HP/Aruba, Juniper, and Cisco network devices such as firewalls, routers, and switches.
Excellent time management, scheduling, and organizational skills are essential.
Relevant certifications such as CCNA or CCNP are a plus.
