Description:
Rackner is seeking a Network Engineer to provide expert network engineering support to the ATO development team.
The role involves developing an ATO package from the ground up that meets security and mission requirements.
Responsibilities include defining network boundaries and necessary boundary mitigations.
The engineer will work as part of the project development team to understand project needs and provide feedback and advice.
The position requires acting as a liaison between the project and Cyber/Network Security, ensuring that requirements and configurations are understood and implemented correctly.
Daily reporting on project progress, concerns, and research/recommend actions to remedy issues is required.
The engineer must understand network infrastructure, security, vulnerabilities, and apply mitigation best practices.
Liaison with the Project AO is necessary to ensure all requirements and mandates are met.
The role includes managing network configuration needs to completion and reporting weekly to project leadership on status, issues, and roadblocks.
Compliance with industry best practices and DoD guidelines is mandatory.
Requirements:
Compliance with DoD 8140 and DAFMAN 17-1305 is mandatory.
Candidates must have at least 5 years of ISSM experience within the last 8 years.
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a journeyman working within the Government ATO process is required.
Candidates must be certified network professionals and proficient in network management and security.
Successful project experience must be demonstrable.
Understanding of the key components and purpose of an ATO is essential.
Candidates must understand the concept of information/hardware/software boundaries and the requirements of a Cross Domain Solution (CDS).
At least one of the following certifications is required: CISM, CISSO, FITSP-M, GCIA, GCSA, GCIH, GSLC, GICSP, CISSP-ISSMP, or CISSP.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Collateral Secret Security Clearance is necessary.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
Candidates must be able to manage workload across competing priorities and work efficiently towards timely task completion.
The ability to work independently and proactively, as well as collaboratively with a team, is essential.
