Remote Network Engineer

Description:

• A2 Hosting is hiring a Network Engineer to join their team remotely.
• The Network Engineer will be responsible for building, maintaining, and improving the network infrastructure to ensure peak performance and reliability for clients.
• The role includes diagnosing and resolving issues, as well as working on the development and implementation of upcoming projects and improvements.
• The Network Engineer will collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure A2 Hosting remains a leader in customer-focused web hosting services.
• Responsibilities include performing network maintenance and system upgrades, standardizing and optimizing infrastructure, monitoring network capacity, collaborating on network architecture, maintaining service quality, troubleshooting production issues, documenting standards, and participating in the on-call rotation.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in system-level network administration and troubleshooting is required.
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing datacenter networks, including local and wide area configurations.
• Skilled in network hardware selection, establishing multi-site connections, and crafting Layer 1, 2, and 3 architectures, including BGP and VPN tunnels.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English are necessary for effective communication with team members and leadership.
• Expertise in administering and implementing Juniper routers and firewalls, as well as Cisco switches, is required.
• Familiarity with network automation tools (e.g., Ansible) and the ability to write basic Python scripts is preferred.
• A working knowledge of Linux operating systems and common networking command-line tools is necessary.
• Experience with the entire network configuration lifecycle, from planning and design through deployment and maintenance, is required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems professionally, are essential.
• Effective time management skills, including multitasking and prioritization, are necessary to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• A team-focused mentality with the ability to collaborate and problem-solve alongside team members at all levels is required.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills are necessary to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with configuration management systems, such as Ansible or Salt, is a plus.
• Experience in a remote work environment with globally distributed teams is strongly preferred.
• Experience in a web hosting or similar technology company is a plus.
• Certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent are a plus.
