Description:

The Network Operations Engineer role at Megaport is responsible for network operations and maintenance, providing level 3 support for services relied upon by Megaport customers.
The position reports to the Network Operations Engineering Manager and involves working closely with engineering teams to build and maintain a highly scalable, reliable, and resilient network.
The role emphasizes automation and delivering elastic services to customers on demand.
Key responsibilities include operations and maintenance of Megaport’s next-generation network, major network and Level 3 customer incident fault resolution, and network capacity management.
The engineer will document all work in Megaport’s OSS/BSS systems and ensure appropriate monitoring is implemented for network equipment.
Maintaining technical relationships with vendors and internal engineering teams is essential, as well as providing escalation support for various business units.
The role also involves evaluating, testing, and certifying new network hardware, systems, and software, along with developing and delivering training to Network Operations staff.
Collaboration with Engineering on network enhancement projects is expected.

Requirements:

Familiarity with Juniper and Cisco hardware platforms is essential.
Experience managing network hardware installations and single-mode fiber optics patching at third-party data centers is necessary.
Linux OS and Perl or Python coding experience will be highly regarded.
Candidates should be proactive, self-motivated, organized, and possess strong attention to detail.
Exceptional time management skills and the ability to take initiative in a rapidly changing environment are required.
The ability to work autonomously as well as in remote teams is essential.
