Description:
The Network Security Engineer is responsible for Network Security software development, including collaborating on developing requirements, writing technical specifications, designing, coding, and working with a team on testing and deployment.
This position involves partnering with Product Management, Development, and other Engineers to install and support firewall management solutions for internal research and development (R&D).
The role requires providing technical expertise during the application development process to support products and solutions from various vendors, including firewalls, routers, switches, IPS, proxies, and more.
Responsibilities include building and maintaining test labs, assisting in software design, and providing technical assistance to developers.
The engineer will assist in testing software solutions and gather all technical requirements for integrating with security devices by reading administrator guides, user guides, CLI guides, etc.
The role involves learning the security device's inner workings and converting that logic into a structure that the application can use.
The engineer will work in conjunction with product managers, architects, and developers to schedule, architect, and design software integration with security devices.
Responsibilities also include setting up, managing, and maintaining security devices in the test lab to support R&D and integration testing.
The engineer will create and execute test cases to ensure proper code functionality within the application and serve as a support escalation point for complex support issues involving device integration.
Additionally, the engineer will create internal knowledge base documentation for known configurations to assist with support issues.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or another related field of study is required.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in network design and support is necessary.
Expertise in networking and/or security is essential.
Experience with packet trace and analysis techniques and tools is required.
Familiarity with network security tools such as firewalls, IPS, routers, switches, and proxies is necessary.
Knowledge of virtualization technologies and platforms is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and writing skills are required.
Outstanding problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet business requirements with technical solutions, are essential.
The candidate must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple roles and demonstrate high emotional intelligence.
Experience with regular expressions (Regex) is required.
The candidate should be flexible and able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
A positive attitude and the ability to work well with others are essential.
